Decor Elements

Do you know that Stampin' Up has an entire product line dedicated to home decor and decorating? They are called Decor Elements and I love them. I have a traditional flower applied to the wall in our powder room, and I have more in mind for our home as we paint. There are some beautiful sayings, much like you see on HGTV and you wonder where do they get those? Umhmmm!

They are versatile, easy to apply and remove-without damage to your walls-and come in various colors and sizes. But you know what is really so, so cool? Decor elements is not just for walls.

Here are a few samples of some cute holiday plates. (I also used them on the mugs for Snowman Soup for the craft fair.) These are the easiest things to make! (Imagine what you neighbors will think when you take these to them with homemade cookies on top? These use both rub ons from the holiday mini as well as cut snowflakes from the Bigshot. They apply quite easily as they do to walls, canisters, toyboxes, you name it!

Want to learn more? Visit my webisite and look under catalogs at our definitely Decorative to see what's available for you to use! Great gifts for yourself and others at a great value!

Fall Fun

A couple of ideas using the stamp sets Spooky and Fall Foliage. (When you live in Texas, you have to create you own foliage, so this stamp set is a must.) As for Mr. Mummy up there, that's just some fun with tearing paper, sponging and some circle punches! For details on how to create these beautiful cards or supplies needed to make them yourself, feel free to contact me by clicking on the button on the right hand side of my blog!

Regionals At DFW

What a wonderful learning experience this day was! I cannot tell you how many ideas I came away with! From business tips to new techniques, every minute was worthwhile! I LOVE the company I work for and this opportunity just affirmed these feelings even more!

Look at some of the cards that were made by the beautiful stamp set we were given for attending!

This stamp set can be found in the holiday mini and is called Day of Gratitude! The ideas for this are endless and one is more beautiful than the next! I absolutely loved working with it!

Looking for a new and inexpensive way to stamp as well as enhance your fall decor? How about using coffee filters? Contact me and I'll show you how at YOUR next workshop.

Isn't this adorable? It was the winner for the cards submitted to Shelli for a prize basket. We are making it at Monica's pick three holiday card party on Friday night!

And here is one of my idea gurus, in the flesh...the one, the only, the STAMP SHACK LADY! Check out her website for some really creative ideas! I'm such a newbie compared to her!

And who knew she would be sooooo personable, soooo Shelli? Here are my friend Kim and I with Shelli Gardner, co-founder and CEO of Stampin' Up!

All in all, this was a great day! One which left me very motivated and energized to Share What I Love with all of you!

BUSY

I'm so blessed to say I've been busy. I've been making swaps for my shoebox swaps for the DFW Stampin' Up Regionals that I'm so looking forward to attending next Friday. I'm prepping for three upcoming Pick 3 card classes this month. I'm crafting away on some fun new projects for two craft fairs in November, and I've made 170 favors for a recent birthday party and will be working on baby shower invitations tomorrow afternoon! BUSY! Fortunately, I'm loving every minute of it! Please do forgive me for being so far behind on posting! I'll try to be better on keeping you up to date! I've not taken many recent pictures, but I do have a few today that I don't believe you've seen! As my new projects take shape, I'll post them here too! In the meantime, don't forget to click on my catalog for all your stamping needs! The new holiday mini has some adorable items that have just become available as of Sept 1!

Congratulations to Dr. Frank Petrigliano, our cousin who is now an orthopedic surgeon at UCLA after many years of hard work and dedication! This is the card I made for him!

This card is from a new stamp set in the 2010-2011 Catalog and Idea book called
Friends Never Fade. This is one of many cards I've made from this stamp set...it's very versatile and I
highly recommend it to you stampers out there.

You'll be hearing more from me about this set in posts to come including an opportunity to purchase a card kit featuring this stamp set!

Until then...
Happy Stamping!

Pick 3 Challenge

My upline has challenged me to hold 8 classes by the middle of July! So we've decided to use the challenge to play Pick 3. This is a fun way for you to get your friends together for a girls night or day in to create! Here's how it works!

You pick three of my card designs and invite 8 or more of your friends over to make 3 of each of the three cards you've picked. In all you each will create 9 cards for $15. If you have at least 5 friends join you, your class is free! Anyone who spends $30 in Stampin' Up products gets their cards for free! This is a win-win! You don't have to be creative, yet you will come away with 9 beautifully handcrafted cards made by you and and a couple of fun filled hours with your girlfriends! What could be better than that?

So, don't miss out, let's grab your calendar and schedule your Pick 3 date right away!

Simply Said

(I apologize for the shadowed picture...lighting
was not good on this day!)

Card one: Simply Said
Paper: Brocade Blue, Chocolate Chip
and Whisper White.
Ink: Chocoate chip, craft white, and bashful blue.

Card 2: Simply Said
Paper: Pixie Pink and Only Orange
Ink: Craft white, Pink passion

Here are two different cards I made using the Simply Said stamp set. I just love the versatility of this stamp set. The first card was inspired by my friend and stampin' guru, Kim (craftingwithkim.blogspot.com) The second uses different stamps from the same set. I love how one stamp set can offer so many options. There are even stamps that were not used on either card in this set! What a great purchase option! Imagine how cute these would be to adorn your scrapbook pages too! Check this stamp set out in the idea book and catalog on the side bar and Shop With Shan!

Things I Love

Outside of Gift Card Holder

Inside of Gift Card Holder

We made this fun gift card holder at my first two demonstrations with the Things I Love stamp set. They were a big hit, and pretty easy to make! Here is how you do it!

1. Cut one piece of pixie pink 8 1/2 x 11 paper in half length wise.

2. Use your scoring blade on your Stampin' Up cutter to make a line to fold right across the center.

3. Then make a scoring fold 3 inches in from the top and bottom.

4. Fold at lines so it looks like the letter M.

5. Use sticky strip to adhere the top points of the M together. You will then have a shorter middle with a longer front and back flap.

6. You then take the word window punch, line it up with the edge of the middle flap and punch halfway up it, then line it up with the other end of the middle flap and punch again.

7. Take the small circle punch and punch half way up where the 2 word window punches meet in the middle. This makes the gift card easily accessible for the recipient.

8. Use the Things I Love Stamp Set and stamp on whisper white paper using pixie pink and Bermuda Bay inks. Adhere to the outside front of your card as pictured.

9. Finally tie with Bermuda Bay ribbon!

The inside also leaves room for a personal note from you to the recipient! What a great idea for teacher appreciation week coming up in May!
